Four years ago, I came to the Mission as an alcoholic and addicted to Methamphetamine. I felt there was no hope and help throughout my addiction until I came here and went through the Victory program. The Durham Rescue Mission’s Victory program is a 12-month faith base program that teaches men and women how to overcome addictions through the word of God. After 15 years of full-blown addiction, I had finally found victory and God has changed my life!

So in the years before I ever came to the Durham Rescue Mission or even thought of it the possibility of such a thing I grew up in Roxboro North Carolina and began to have some issues with some depression and some mental health and affected my judgment at times affected my behavior and eventually it's time went on again and ultimately lost just about everything that really mattered me much you know there's a lot of things that bring people to the mission and every story is different and every story I believe is dear to the Lord to those of you who donate your time or donate in other ways or pray for the mission you're what you're doing is I think bigger than you can imagine
